HASKELL COUNTY · SCOPED SOURCE REVIEW OCTOBER 4, 2026

Five questions. Practical next steps.

Project statements, working pathways and unresolved questions are kept separate. A source review does not certify a current vacancy, contract award or operating result.

What is happening?

Google announced Haskell County campuses in November 2025; its June 2026 release reports data-center construction underway. County records also identify a separate Crusoe-linked agreement. These are distinct records, not a single operating campus count.

Who is hiring—and where can I train?

Use Google and Intersect employer portals, plus West Central Texas workforce help. Haskell residents are within the workforce agency’s service area. Google’s Haskell Data Center Server Operations Manager listing displayed an application route in the October 4 review. Availability must be reconfirmed with the employer; no apprenticeship intake or guaranteed placement is established.

How can local businesses participate?

The Crusoe-linked agreement’s Exhibit F provides for a local-services contact, County business-list outreach and vendor workshops tied to construction. Ask the County whether the contact and next workshop are available. These are agreement commitments; no workshop date, open bid or award is confirmed. Google’s supplier-engagement page did not expose a usable application in this review.

What can residents influence?

Review County agendas, tax-abatement documents and road-use records before contacting the County Judge or precinct commissioner about specific items. The dates in this archive are historical; no next project-specific hearing was verified.

Who benefits—and what is proven?

Intersect reports support for local schools, emergency services and public spaces. These activities belong to the Quantum energy project’s community record. The hospital acknowledges an Intersect Education Building backup-power donation and a separate $300,000 Google donation for clinic backup power and medical equipment. Installation and measured outcomes remain unverified, and that acknowledgement does not confirm the separate school/EMS claims.

Evidence and next verification.

October 4 milestone recheck · later compute completion open

Re-read Google’s June release, Intersect’s Quantum page and the County agreement index. The Quantum page still has an operations narrative and an In Construction status field. Neither energy operations nor a County agreement confirms operating Google compute buildings. Next evidence needed: a dated local energization or commissioning notice, and construction-start evidence for the separate County agreement.

Construction evidence · company reported

Google’s June 4 release says the Haskell data center recently began construction. Its adjacent Quantum figures describe 640 MW of solar and 1.3 GWh of storage—not data-center IT load. Operating compute capacity and subsequent building completion were not verified.

Quantum status discrepancy · unresolved

Intersect’s project text says operations began in June 2026, while the same page’s status field still says “In Construction.” We retain that discrepancy instead of treating the label or narrative as an independently confirmed current status.

Separate Crusoe-linked record · agreement, not a construction start

The County publishes an agreement with Haskell DC Owner, LLC, linked to Crusoe. Section 5 contains anticipated Phase 1 dates and extension provisions; it does not prove work began. The local-vendor provisions are in Exhibit F. No tenant, delivered capacity or completed local-vendor award is verified here.

Comparison finding · capacity claims need original evidence

The October 4 review of the Texas AI Data Center Intelligence Hub and company sources found more detailed third-party campus estimates than Google’s announcement discloses. We added construction context and County records, but have not adopted unverified load estimates or declared this a complete county project inventory.

Review limits: This is a scoped review, not a full county inventory or current employer vacancy audit. Energy-project operations and data-center operations are separate. Separate school/EMS recipient confirmation, hospital installation, vendor workshop availability, project water demand and later construction milestones remain open. Next manual check target: October 11, 2026.
