SAN ANGELO · STRATIGRAPHIC CONCEPT SERIES

A place to work.
A place to come home to.

Good careers. Strong families. A riverfront worth returning to. Each investment should strengthen the next.

ONE INVESTMENT BUILDS UPON ANOTHER

Recruit the employer.
Welcome the family.
Strengthen the town.

San Angelo’s employment, housing and riverfront investments can be planned together. Permanent careers help families establish roots. An inviting downtown and meaningful activities for children could help employers recruit and retain workers.

Weekend visitors could support the same businesses residents use. The aim is a stronger everyday community with a destination built around its own people and history.

This concept is developed by Stratigraphic Design and Development, a business affiliated with DataCentersTX. No City, SWA or data-center endorsement is claimed.

01

Careers

Recruit manufacturers and suppliers around proven demand. Measure permanent jobs, wages and local purchasing.

02

Pathways

Connect paid training, fair-chance hiring and employer-defined skills so existing residents can qualify.

03

Roots

Plan housing workers can afford, schools, transportation and public-service capacity alongside growth.

CONNECT THE EXPERIENCE

The journey becomes part of the visit.

Concept of long zip-line spans following the river toward distant park stations
Concho Skyline Adventure · illustrative concept

Long rides.
Different parks.
One riverfront journey.

A proposed paid zip-line circuit would travel diagonally along the river between distant park stops, alternating banks. Visitors could explore a park before continuing. A separate return circuit, single-leg tickets and a full-journey pass are ideas to investigate.

Our scale reference is Ziptrek’s 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl installation: four parallel 800-foot lines above the downtown festival. That precedent does not establish a feasible San Angelo route.

What must be proven before this becomes a ride?

Surveyed alignments, launch and landing heights, braking and rescue systems, accessible station access, bridge and boat clearance, wind limits, flood exposure, land permissions, insurance and operator economics. Every gravity leg needs a downhill ride; return travel needs separately designed launches.

MEET ME ON THE CONCHO

A slower way to explore.

Seated motorized sightseeing boats could offer a family experience. Navigability, water levels and accessibility need independent study; uninterrupted travel between every park is not assumed.

HISTORY WITH A FUTURE

A downtown with its own character.

Explore pedestrian event weekends, local shops, Western storytelling and live entertainment around existing buildings. A trolley and permanent street changes would require separate access and traffic studies.

BUILD CAREFULLY · LISTEN FIRST

Begin with what
the community
already values.

The City’s May 7, 2026 announcement identifies SWA Group as the firm leading its downtown river parks master-planning process. These Stratigraphic concepts are independent ideas to discuss alongside that process.

Protect the water edge, preserve public access and leave room for quieter parks. Commercial activity should fit the place and help existing merchants.

FIRST · TEST A WEEKEND

Start small. Learn locally.

Try an operator-led market and family music weekend using suitable existing spaces, permissions and local vendors.

NEXT · PROVE THE CONNECTIONS

Study the routes and costs.

Compare walking links, accessibility, boats and zip lines separately. Assign maintenance, funding and operating responsibility.

THEN · BUILD WHAT WORKS

Expand on measured results.

Track resident use, vendor earnings, repeat visits, permanent jobs and operating costs before committing to larger investments.

COME AS YOU ARE. BRING YOUR FAMILY. YOUR WORK MATTERS HERE.

The river is the setting.
The working man is the hero.
Family reunion is the purpose.

Residents, local businesses, educators, employers and potential operators: what would make this useful to your family or your community?
